Problems Sending Email?
Mail sending problems are typically caused by one of two things:
Not Authenticating on the SMTP Server
In order to send mail through BitSculptor's server, you must sign into the mail server using the same settings as the incoming server. This authentication is required to prevent spammers from using our server to send spam. More instructions about how to enable outgoing server authentication can be found on the email setup guide.
Your ISP is Blocking Port 25
Some ISP's (most notably AT&T DSL) block port 25, making it impossible to send mail using BitSculptor's servers through the default port. There are three possible solutions to this issue:
- Use an different port (BitSculptor supports port 2525 for sending)
- Use your ISP's mail server as your outgoing server
- Have your ISP remove the block
