About the Client
Located on the west shore of California's beautiful Clear Lake, Lakeport is the oldest incorporated (1888) community in Lake County and is the Lake County seat.
Project Details
The City of Lakeport wanted to create a central repository of information which would be valuable to local residents, businesses, and visitors. Each of these classes of visitors would hit the site looking for different types of content, so the site's content needs to be easily browsable and well-maintained.
Ease of navigation is accomplished by starting with a well-organized site structure, and using dropdown menus to navigate throughout the site. Additionally, a full-site search tool is included, allowing visitors to easily search the entire web site.
In-depth information on local news, events, city codes, and city departments is maintained by an extensive collection of custom content management tools, allowing multiple staff members to maintain specific areas of the site with little or no training. Departments each have their own homepage and related pages, as well an FAQ list, document archive, and employee directory.
